Dear Members and Friends,
Our Center continues to need your help. November and December of 2011 were somewhat good when it came to our financials, though for the year, it was touch and go. We have cut back costs as much as we can and still be able to provide the Irish experience of hospitality and friendship to all who frequent the Center.
We are unable to continue with the music for each Saturday night. The cost to bring the music each Saturday night has been upwards to $12,000 a year or more. The Board is working to secure music at least once a month with the aid of the ICCC. The Center will also try to bring in music once a month. If you know of any group that would like to showcase their talents, gratis, let the office know, and hopefully, we can make some arrangements.
During the month of February, come in, use your card, and receive a l0% discount on your meal. Ten percent? Yes! We have increased your discount. Come in and use you Center.
It has been with much regret, that the BOD has accepted the resignation of Nancy Newell. Nancy has been a god-send to the Irish Center. Through the past two years, Nancy has given to the UICC her ideas, her time, her energy, and her financial support. Her response to request s from the Board has always been "Yes!" The Board and the Center, as a whole, wish to thank her for all her contributions.
Per the By-laws of the Corporation, the President has made an appointment to fill the term held by Nancy Newell. The Board wishes welcome to Judith Kell to the Board. Judith brings an extensive business experience and leadership to the Board. We know that she will bring her enthusiasm and expertise to the Board and the Irish Center. A thousand welcomes, Judy!
